Funding opportunities in Austria
There is currently no uniform, nationwide scheme in Austria specifically for PV*T systems. However, attractive incentives exist:
VAT exemption: Since 2024, PV systems up to a specified capacity are exempt from VAT in Austria. Whether a PV*T system falls under this rule depends on the exact configuration—please clarify case by case with a specialist planner.
Check available funding: Under certain conditions, PV*T projects may qualify for funding of the PV or solar-thermal components—e.g., via regional programs or innovation grants. Eligibility depends heavily on each program’s criteria and should be assessed individually.

Funding opportunities in Germany
There are currently no programs in Germany that target PV*T systems exclusively. However, individual components—PV and solar-thermal—can be funded through various schemes:
Federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG): Grants and loans for solar-thermal and PV that, under certain conditions, can also be applied to PV*T systems.
KfW programs: Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) offers low-interest loans and grants for sustainable heating and energy systems, which can indirectly support hybrid solutions like PV*T.
Regional programs: Many states and municipalities offer additional incentives for renewables that may include PV*T components.
